Ready? 자 준비하시고... 출발!!

2025 웨이코 주님의 교회 대학부 사역이 시작됩니다. 

웨이코 주님의 교회의 달력에는 새해가 두 번 있습니다. 한번은 신년 1월이고 또 다른 새해는 8월 새 학기입니다. 그 이유는 웨이코에 베일러 대학이 중심에 있다보니 새학기 시작하는 시기가 새로운 시작의 시점입니다. 그래서 8월 새 학기가 되면 방학 동안 조금 잠잠했던 도시가 다시 활기를 찾게 됩니다.
주님의 교회도 새학기가 되면 활기를  찾습니다. 여름동안 기도와 멘토와 리더들이 준비하고 기다렸던 대학부 사역이 시작됩니다.

베일러 대학은 조금 특별한 문화가 있습니다. 그것은 학기가 시작하기 전 토요일에 'church fair'라는 행사를 엽니다. 웨이코에 있는 교회들이 대학 캠퍼스에 모여서 교회를 소개하는 시간입니다. 웨이코의 많은 교회들이 베일러 대학 교정에 모입니다. 이 행사는 베일러 대학이 기독교 사립 학교이기에 가능한 행사입니다. 이 행사에 신입생들이 각 교회 부스에서 교회들의 소개를 들으면서  자신들이 가고 싶은 교회들을 찾아보고 주일에 예배 드림을 권장하고 있습니다.

주님의 교회 대학부 리더들도 'church fair' 에 동참하여 주님의 교회를 열심히 소개했습니다. 미림, 진수, 하은, 제이, 예일, 영롱을 주축으로 주님의 대학부는 웨이코에서 가장 큰 미국 교회 옆에 자리 잡았습니다. 다윗처럼 주님의 청년들은 위축됨 하나 없이  메가처치 바로 옆에서  어깨를 나란히 하면서 이번 행사에 참여했습니다. 비록 무더운 여름 덥고 땀흘리는 시간이었지만, 신입생이였을때 교회를 소개받고 공동체에 합류한 것 처럼, 이제는 믿음의 선배가 되어서 후배들을 그리스도께 인도하고 믿음의 공동체를 소개하는 것이 얼마나 아름다운지 모릅니다. 하나님을 사랑하기에 그 사랑을 소개하는 청년들은 웃음을 잃지 않고 동역해줍니다. 청년때에 그리스도를 만나고 하나님 나라를 위해서 헌신하는 것이 얼마나 귀한지 모릅니다. 세상의 즐거움보다 하나님 나라를 위해서 헌신함이 평생의 방향성과 복이 될줄 믿습니다.

기쁘게 시작한 2025-2026년  학기에 하나님께서 하실 일을 기대합니다. 하나님께서 주님의 교회와 주님의 청년들을 마음껏 사용하시길 소원합니다 .

The 2025 Waco Lord's Church College Ministry is beginning. 

The  Lord's Church Waco calendar has two new years. One is January, and the other is August, the start of the new semester. This is because Baylor University is central to Waco, making the start of the new semester a time for fresh beginnings. So when the new semester begins in August, the city, which had been a bit quiet during the break, comes alive again.

The Lord's Church also comes alive when the new semester begins. The college ministry, which prayer groups, mentors, and leaders have prepared for and awaited throughout the summer, begins.

Baylor University has a somewhat unique tradition. On the Saturday before the semester starts, it holds an event called the ‘church fair’. This is a time when churches from Waco gather on the university campus to introduce themselves. Many Waco churches gather on Baylor's grounds. This event is possible because Baylor is a Christian private university. Freshmen are encouraged to visit each church booth, learn about the churches, find ones they'd like to attend, and worship there on Sundays.

The Lord's Church college ministry leaders also participated in the ‘church fair,’ enthusiastically introducing the Lord's Church. This year, our booth was positioned next to the largest American church in Waco. We participated in this event shoulder-to-shoulder with the megachurch. Though it was a hot, sweaty summer day, it was beautiful to see how, just as we were introduced to a church and joined a community as freshmen, we are now faith seniors guiding juniors to Christ and introducing them to the community of faith. Young people who love God and share that love work alongside us without losing their smiles. I cannot express how precious it is to meet Christ in youth and dedicate oneself to God's kingdom. I believe that dedicating oneself to God's kingdom, rather than worldly pleasures, will be a lifelong direction and blessing.

I look forward to what God will do in the 2025-2026 semester, which began joyfully. May God freely use His church.
